Project Description

Ben Lee, PE

Hydraulic Engineer

For Ben, his career with Inter-Fluve started in college during a field trip for his Sediment Transport class. That landed him at an Inter-Fluve dam removal site, where he was so impressed by the company’s entire-ecosystem approach for enhancing brook trout habitat, that he applied for an internship at our Wisconsin office the following year.

Ben went on to earn his MS in Water Resources Engineering before joining the Inter-Fluve team. In 2016, he became a licensed PE. Today, Ben is a self-proclaimed “Jack-of-all-trades,” doing a bit of everything from proposal writing to surveying to project design. But what he enjoys most is conducting fluvial geomorphic investigations, then using the knowledge gained to guide sustainable, restoration designs.

Ben enjoys the mentorship aspect that comes with working at Inter-Fluve. “Everyone works together, learning from each other’s expertise, and because no project is the same, each one feels fresh,” he says.

“Even if I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d still do the work I do now.”
