Project Description

Jonathon Kusa, PE, LEED AP

Managing Principal

“My leadership goal is to build a team environment that encourages our staff and clients to leverage and expand their talents to deliver high-quality projects,” Jonathon says. Jonathon sees his role as a synthesis of charting the future course of the firm, managing work and the business, and assisting staff in achieving their individual goals.

While Jonathon is adept in managing people, he also has a wealth of in-depth engineering experience. He’s managed a hazardous waste abatement project at the Sea-Tac Airport; signed roadway reconstruction plans; delivered numerous stormwater and sanitary system projects; and designed and implemented bioengineered streambank stabilization and wetland mitigation sites.

Over the last several years, he’s begun to focus on how natural systems can be restored in urban environments. “In systems like Minneapolis’s Minnehaha Creek or Houston’s system of bayous, we’ve spent the last hundred years putting water in concrete structures to convey water away from infrastructure. Today, we understand the importance of natural ecological functions to human health and environmental sustainability. One of our missions at Inter-Fluve is to help clients restore some ecological function within those systems while maintaining public safety,” Jonathon explains.

In his off time, Jonathon can be found fishing, hiking, rowing, and spending time with his wife and their son. An avid traveler, Jonathon has worked and traveled all around the world. Most recent was a trip to India; next on the list? “Central or South America!”

“My leadership goal is to build a team environment that encourages our staff and clients to leverage and expand their talents to deliver high-quality projects.”
