Kelsey grew up in Anchorage, Alaska fishing all summer long with her family on Prince William Sound so it’s no surprise that she fit right in with the Hood River office where she was hired on as an administrative assistant in early 2014. A talented writer-organizer-creative type, Kelsey was attracted to working at Inter-Fluve because of the people who work here, and because she respects Inter-Fluve’s focus on improving water and habitat.
“The people and place where I grew up were highly tied to fishing, so working for a company whose goal is to improve fish habitat is a huge motivator – especially when many of the projects are right out my back door.” Kelsey describes her role here as being diverse. “Like everyone at Inter-Fluve, I wear a bunch of hats,” Kelsey explains. Her main roles include creating expense reports, project support, marketing, and office management.
Out of the office, Kelsey balances time between outdoor and creative pursuits. She’s nearing completion of writing and illustrating a children’s book that she’s been working on for several years, and also writes for a local enviro blog. Word on the street is that she’s also quite the trivia buff. On the to-do list is riding more of the trails that lie out her back door in White Salmon, Washington, and trying out a watersport or two, “maybe kite-surfing, or windsurfing – kayaking sounds cool too though.”
