Yasmin Arlette Acosta-Myers
Yasmin joined Inter-Fluve in 2019 after she’d spent seven years as a project manager for a boutique PR firm helping companies like Simms, Adidas and SONOS tell their story. The experience she gained, in addition to her passion for creating art and her reverence for nature, made Inter-Fluve a natural next step in her career where she is a member of our marketing and communications team.
Born and raised in Tecate, Mexico, just across the US/Mexico border, Yasmin moved to Dillion, Montana at the age of 14. This experience set her on a trajectory of cultural exploration infused with nature and art. She received her Bachelor of Science in Arts Ed. and Elementary Education, and worked at a local school as an Art Educator before moving on to a Master’s of Science in Arts Administration. Her Master’s research focused on how place and social interactions in relation to art become sustainable cultural assets in the formation of a sense of place and belonging. Today, she continues to explore her dual cultural background through involvement with several arts and cultural boards, organizations and programs. “Art is empowering, it pushes you,” says Yasmin. “There’s a lot of emotion in my art. Coming from essentially two cultures, I’ve learned that there are wonders that the visual world can evoke”. In the midst of getting lost in the wonders of nature and art, Yasmin enjoys dancing, biking and hiking with her dog, Sophie.
