The Preserve at Oak Meadows Golf Course, River Restoration
Inter-Fluve was part of a multidisciplinary team charged with the $20M redesign of Oak Meadows Golf Course to reduce flooding while enhancing habitat within the stream, reconnecting the stream to its floodplain, and creating wetlands to improve flood water storage. Inter-Fluve’s primary role in the process was to design the stream restoration and floodplain reconnection on over a mile of Salt Creek. The project included removal of two low head dams, construction of a new river channel, replacement of sheet pile walls and concrete bank structures with bioengineered bank stabilization features, and installation of cobble substrate areas and large wood to improve habitat conditions.
