Josh Barza, PE
Water Resources Engineer
In work and play, rivers are the common denominator for Josh. An avid white-water kayaker and instructor, Josh likes to say that he “plays in small streams for work and big rivers for fun.” He joined Inter-Fluve in 2020 after working for a small private firm in Maryland where he primarily worked on smaller regional streams to reduce the amount of erosion and pollution that would end up in the Chesapeake Bay. One of those projects was Rosaryville State Park Stream Restoration, which included over 12,000 linear feet of stream restoration design, floodplain reconnection, and unique wetland creation. While the projects were smaller in scale, it was a valuable experience because he had the opportunity to engage in all aspects of his projects, including survey, geomorphology, existing conditions reports, channel design and HEC-RAS. Josh brings expertise in data collection, technical report writing, stream grading, hydraulic modeling, plan set drafting, cost estimation and construction oversight. He is excited to use his skills to help restore natural environments in the Pacific Northwest and around the country.
