Colton Shaw

Engineer in Training

Colton is an Engineer in Training (EIT) based in Hood River where he is plugging in on a variety of projects around the country, primarily in modeling, GIS, and field work. Prior to joining Inter-Fluve, he was an ecological modeler with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in Vicksburg, Mississippi where he worked with a team to advance riparian modeling techniques and developed user-friendly applications to enhance model accessibility. His modeling experience also includes working for a lab that develops environmental sensing equipment. New to Inter-Fluve in 2024, Colton is “looking forward to plugging into field work, construction and a variety of projects so I can become a well-rounded engineer.”

Colton was born in Portland, Oregon, but moved to Japan soon after. He returned to Portland in elementary school. Today’s he’s still fluent in Japanese. He’s also an avid traveler, self-proclaimed foodie and enjoys kayaking, basketball, and backpacking.
